Mrs. Philip Cudone, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., became the first player since the 1930s to hold a USGA Championship three consecutive years by winning the Senior Women's Amateur Championship at the Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with a record score of 231 for 54 holes. Mrs. Cudone won previously in 1968 and 1969.

Miss Virginia Van Wie was the last to win three straight-the 1932-33-34 Women's Amateur Championships. Mrs. Cudone played rounds of 78-75-78 and bettered by five strokes the record 236 she shared with Mrs. Marge Mason.

Mrs. Paulette Lee, of Coral Gables, Fla. was second with 239. Mrs. Cudone was four strokes ahead after the first round, and increased the margin to 12 after the second. The entry was 68.
