Mrs. Cudone won her second consecutive Championship by defeating
Mrs. Lowell D. Brown, of Tyler, Texas, in a playoff at the Ridglea
Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas.
Both ladies equalled the scoring record of 236 for the regulation
54 holes, and then Mrs. Cudone scored 76 in the playoff against
84 by Mrs. Brown. With nine holes to play in the Championship proper,
Mrs. Cudone held a five-stroke lead over Mrs. Brown.
Mrs. Cudone then lost four strokes, to Mrs. Brown in the first
three holes of the home nine, and three-putted the 18th to allow
Mrs. Brown to pull even. In the playoff Mrs. Cudone birdied three
of the first four holes and was never caught.
